English Title: The Hiking
This song was recorded a long time ago, when I was still learning how to handle FL Studio to "play" drums. I think 2005 or something... This tune was totally influenced by Jethro Tull.
English title: Highway Hypnosis
This is an old composition I wrote for an instrumental progressive rock project I named "Twilight Zone".
The song's name is about the phenomenon most drivers face when driving for long periods of time, when they don't actually record reading signs, taking turns, etc, in spite that they are actually performing these things flawlessly.
Influences were Pink Floyd and Camel.
The song that inspired me into arranging the other Donkey Kong Country covers. This is also the one that made me pseudo-famous in You Tube. Never expected to receive so much praise, it was really cool to know there are lots of nerd/nostalgic people out there like me.
But, some people thought the song was too far from the original, being too heavy and noisy. But that was my whole point anyway. Instead of trying to sound exactly like the original like everyone else, I tried to put my own style into it. Since I'm a progressive rock and metal fan, it came out this way naturally.
The very idea of doing something like this came when I was a little boy, when I used to spend hours listening to the sound test on my Snes and trying to picture how cool it would be to listen to songs played by real instruments, especially by a rock band. I never imagined I would try to do that myself some years in the future.
The current You Tube video is of a 2006 recording, which is kind of a drag this days since I replaced that old guitar and effect pedals a long time ago. Someday I'm going to record another one.
Influences of Metallica, Pink Floyd, Steve Vai and Fear Factory.
